Summer Car Kit Checklist

Summer Car Kit Essentials Checklist

Summer is upon us! Before you get too caught up in the whirlwind of camping, hiking, fishing, swimming, and all other summer activities we’ve all been eagerly participating, take a few moments to get your Summer Car Kit together.

Flat tires and car troubles are common in the summer as you hit the back roads and take long road trips in the hot summer sun. You don’t want to be caught unprepared – especially with a group of rowdy, grumpy kids in the back. Plus, with this car kit in stow, you’ll be fully prepared for every spur of the moment mountain trip and/or plan change.

Stay clean and healthy with hand sanitizer, wet wipes, toilet paper, and trash bags always on hand. Sunscreen and bug spray are a must – especially on trips up the mountains or to one of the many beautiful lakes we have here.

Cash is always handy to keep around for carnivals, fee stations, or other vendor stands that may not take card.

I like to keep a matches/lighter on hand always for spontaneous campfires (keeping some firewood and tinder on hand as well isn’t a bad idea either). If you’re a s’more lover, you can also find compact s’more kits at the store to bring along 🙂

Keeping a flashlight and extra batteries, a first aid kit, non-perishable food, water, and ibuprofen on hand just in case is essential. Even outside of emergency situations, you never know when you may accidentally underpack snacks/water for a day out or forget the flashlight at home. It’s nice to keep spares in your car just in case. Blankets are great for cool summer nights and picnics – and of course for emergency situations when you may be stranded somewhere chilly.

Of course, you should always keep a spare tire, jack, reflective hazard triangle, and jumper cables on hand. If you have a spare key and/or your car integrates with apps that can lock/unlock your car, make sure to get that all set up and ready to go NOW. Lost keys or issues with your car’s electrical circuit are a quick way to ruin a fun trip. Make sure you also have your insurance and roadside assistance information organized and ready to go in case of emergency. The last thing you want to do is have to frantically dig through your overflowing glove box when an emergency strikes. You can keep a calm head knowing everything is organized and ready to go.

As much as we hope you will enjoy a carefree summer without car troubles, this Summer Car Kit will keep you organized and ready to go in any situation – without the stress. Make sure to bring your car into World Class Auto in American Fork before your next car trip. Get 50% off an oil change and $15 off a coolant flush to keep your vehicle well-maintained and ready for any adventure you throw at it.

Enjoy your summer!
